Texas Schools Face Closures And Delays Due To Severe Winter Weather

The majority of North Texas school districts kept to standard operating schedules during Wednesday classes despite unfavourable weather conditions.

Schools across North Texas plan to push their first class sessions forward in the morning due to harsh weather conditions that bring freezing wind chills below zero levels.

The winter conditions have forced multiple outside gatherings to either be rescheduled or relocated.

Fort Worth ISD

On Wednesday, FWISD made the decision to maintain a standard daily operation for all educational institutions.

Laboratory and schools around the district will conduct normal operations as both the National Weather Service and precipitation trends indicate tomorrow will proceed as scheduled according to press releases.

People need to make arrangements for their children when morning temperatures become very cold. Students need to stay comfortable during school hours, so we ask parents and guardians to pack sufficient warm clothing for their children.

Dallas ISD

The schools in Dallas waited through most of Tuesday evening to produce their plans for standard operations the following day.

The transportation buses will maintain their regular operating hours.

All students received instructions to layer their clothing adequately for protection against the cold.
