In a significant blow to craft enthusiasts, Joann Fabrics, a well-known fabric and craft retailer, has announced the closure of six stores across Colorado.
It’s sad to see one of the most popular shops for fabrics and crafts retail is closing in 6 parts in the state of Colorado.
The company filed for bankruptcy protection in January which is for the second time in one year. It has not been a good year for Joann. It’s planning to close over 500 of its 850 stores.
Exploring The Six Congressional Districts Of Colorado
There are 6 of them in Colorado:-
- Aurora – 13861 E. Exposition Ave.
- Aurora – 7360 S. Gartrell Rd.
- Boulder – 2440 Arapahoe Ave.
- Centennial – 9090 E. Phillips Pl.
- Loveland – 1601 Fall River Dr.
- Pueblo – 3449 Dillon Dr.
“This was a very difficult decision to make, given the major impact we know it will have on our Team Members, our customers and all of the communities we serve,” a spokesperson for JOANN told Nexstar.
Even more stores could close while the bankruptcy process continues. It’s still unclear when the closure will take place. And how many employees exactly will be affected.
One thing is for sure: A lot of seamstresses and crafty folks will lose their favourite shop to complete their crafty journey.
Community Impact
The closures will undoubtedly have a ripple effect on the communities served by these Joann locations. Many local crafters and seamstresses rely on these stores for their supplies, classes, and community events.
The loss of these retail spaces may force customers to travel further for similar products or seek alternatives online.
Local employees will also be affected by the store closures, although the exact number of jobs lost has not been specified. Joann has expressed its commitment to supporting its team members during this transition, but many workers face uncertainty as their jobs hang in the balance.
