Charges of assault on the former Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs receiver Kadarius Toney were taken after his capture in Georgia last week, The Athletic confirmed on Wednesday.
Records from the Douglas District Sheriff’s Office, Douglasville, GA, show that Toney was booked on Feb. 6 and was charged with “disturbing ambush strangulation” and “obstructing/harassing 911 calls.
“Toney is denounced for taking the plaintiff’s cell phone amid a battle so she may not call 911, clearing out marks on her neck and visual strangulation.’’
Court archives charge that Toney set his hand around the woman’s throat “with sufficient drive to cause her to be incapable of breathing, take off visible marks on her neck, and cause petechial hemorrhaging in her eyes.
Toney is one of the 20 draftees from Florida for a long time prior to the Monsters. It was a violent time in New York; he was sent to the Kansas City Chiefs. His career game-winning, punt-returning score in the 2023 Super Bowl and fourth-quarter landing made a difference in the Chiefs winning that year’s Super Bowl.
However, as did his time with the Chiefs, it moreover finished the same way and was, in this manner, excluded from the final long-time Super Bowl list.
Toney’s NFL Career
Kadarius Toney was drafted by the New York Giants as a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and later traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in October 2022. He played a pivotal role in helping the Chiefs secure their Super Bowl victories in both 2023 and 2024, notably setting a record for the longest punt return in Super Bowl history during his tenure.
However, his career has been marred by injuries and inconsistent performance, leading to his release from the Chiefs before the 2024 season.
There was a war of words almost whether Toney had been sound, and he did not play in the team’s last seven diversions of the season, counting the playoffs. Browns marked Toney with their home squad at the start of September (taking after the discharge by Kansas City).
He played for the Browns after the team’s early November bye week and delivered a net -4 yards of scrimmage in three diversions of action.Prior to his 2024 run in Cleveland, Toney played in 1½ seasons in Kansas City and played a key part in making a difference in Kansas City winning Super Bowl LVII by hurrying for a 5-yard TD and contributing a game-winning 65-yard punt return in a 38-35 triumph. He remained on the Chiefs’ 2023 program but did not play in their win at Super Bowl LVIII.
