Coal India Shares To Trade Ex-Dividend Tomorrow For ₹5.60 Dividend

As of January 30, 2025, Coal India Limited has announced that its shares will trade ex-dividend starting tomorrow, January 31, 2025. This announcement follows the declaration of a second interim dividend of ₹5.60 per equity share for the financial year 2024-25. 

The Board of Directors, at its meeting held on date inter alia, has declared the 2nd Interim Dividend for the financial year 2024-25 @ Rs 5.60 per equity share of Rs 10/-. In a previous exchange filing to the stock Exchanges dated 15.01.2025 vide letter no CIL: XI(D):4157/4156:2025, as intimated earlier, the company has finalized to declare Friday the 31st Jan; 2025, as Record Date For the purpose of declaration of 2nd Interim Dividend on equity shares for the Financial year ended: 2024-2025.”

It was also learned that the payment of the above-stated dividend would be effected to the deserving shareholders not later than February 26.

The record date is set by the company in order to know who among shareholders will be eligible for an offer. For any investments to be sold for buyback, bonus issue, or stock split, the shares have to be held in the Demat account by the record date.

To be able to receive a stakeholder offer, the shareholders are required to buy at least one day before the ex-date because the settlement takes place the next day. Those who purchase the stock on the ex-date do not have a right to receive any dividends, stock dividends, bonus shares, or a similar form of benefit.
